today's simple project was to make use of a hardwood pallet we had our roof slates delivered in
so i decided to make a tray - crate
simply made out of lengths of pallet saved from dismantling the crate but some had to be cut off as there was 15 odd nails in each joint which ruined some of the timber
these were lightly sanded to remove any splinters but not too much to leave a rustic look with nail dents and staining left and given a quick wax to finish
joints were glued and nailed
now thinking of making some more of these for displaying fruit and veg at our soon to be roadside stall as there is enough to make another 4 or so with the remaining wood and once finished they are solid and have that antique look and feel
also i want to make another more like a tea tray with some cut out handles to use with the decking
something really simple but really unique
total time - 2 hrs
total spent £0
