Quick projects
Our first attempt at recycling candle wax
We had a big box of broken part used candles in the store that i was given a couple of years ago and finally we got round to making use of them
Some were scented some just plain so a load were broken up in a box and melted over boiling water - this took allot longer than thought but got there in the end
For the candle holders we re purposed some old stilton ceramic cheese pots
The wicks were brought from amazon for the huge sum of £1.20 for 5 mtr
The kids really enjoyed making there own candles and even the scented aroma still comes through very well and the results were fab
1.5 hrs and total costs of 1.20 - resulted with 6 large scented candles

last year we had a really hot spell though April - may and the kids wanted a paddling pool so i went o the womble round the nearby boat yards and found this redundant life-raft with the added sunshade and beacon
it had been dumped in a container so needed a good clean and a quick patch on one of the tubes where there was a small puncture this was repaired with a 4inch tube repair patch and some vulcanizing glue
the only the thing it needed was some fittings to cap off the air inlet pipes these were made from re threaded brass compression fittings from our womble store
the kids loved it and spent allot of the summer in it splashing around
project cost £2
time taken 2 hrs
