Enclosure 2 has been made this week end So far the posts have been made from some sawmill off cuts i had left over and were put aside for back up fire wood and for odd jobs These were cut to size and pointed on the saw bench After this i made a post dipper and 1/3 filled it with creosote then proceeded to dip each post in for 20 min and as i let them drain the one before was set in place The stock net was the leftover from a load i had given to me a while ago and fitted with wombled galv staples Along the bottom of the wire i have fixed some more sawmill off cuts to prevent the pigs nuzling under the stock net This run at the moment will only be used for when we are around as i still have the final finishing to do and a shelter to make also i want to put a strand of electric wire around the bottom to prevent them pushing the posts and to prevent them pushing the net We put them in here today and they went mad - made a soil bed and dug up one of my old raised beds to find the worms and other tasty bits they even played a game of football [or snout ball] And here they are all in place Feed wise we have stocked up on apple crushings that the local cider circle was giving away for free carrots from the feed store - and dropped corn - again this enclosure was made for the cost of £0 | |
